The Deutschlandticket is a pretty good deal overall — especially if you travel outside your city often. But one thing it isn’t is flexible. You have to cancel it before the 10th of the month, and there’s no way to pause it. For instance, if you’re away for a couple of weeks, you still pay the full €58 — and in many cases, single tickets would cost less.

This is where mopla comes in. They offer the same Deutschlandticket, but with a much more flexible cancellation policy: you can cancel anytime up to 24 hours before the end of the month.
