It’s Black Week, aka the Super Bowl of Smart Living. My inbox is overflowing, and every brand and retailer is offering some sort of deal – and while not all of them are worth your time, many are very convincing. I hope your shopping list is ready; it’s game on.

Because everyone’s Black Friday priorities are different (kitchen gear? skincare? a SIM card with more GBs?), I’ve included more deals than usual in this issue. Most of the offers here will stay valid through the weekend, but many of the deepest discounts won’t be available until Friday. If I find better offers later in the week, you might get a short extra email on Friday — otherwise, this guide should have you covered. If you haven't subscribed to the Smart Living newsletter yet, you can do it here.

Black Friday is just around the corner, and some of the best deals are already live. Before you get swept up in the discount chaos, here’s how to shop smarter without overspending:

  • Start with a shopping list. Think about what you actually want or need — and how much you’d feel good spending. Having a rough idea of a price ceiling helps you avoid overspending just because something is 40% off. Optionally, set aside a little fun budget for things that spark joy and happen to be on sale.

  • Know your return rights. In Germany, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases, and many shops go beyond that with 30-day return policies or even longer. As long as you don’t cut off all the tags in excitement, you’ve usually got some breathing room.

  • Sign up for store newsletters. If you know where your wishlist items are sold, join the retailer mailing list this week to make sure you don't miss any offers. You can unsubscribe as soon as Black Week ends.

  • Know when to buy. The best discounts usually drop on Black Friday (November 28 this year) or Cyber Monday (December 1) — but if the price on something you want already looks good, don't let it stop you from buying earlier in the week. Hot items might sell out, or the deal on this particular item might expire.

šŸ”„ Top Deals for Black Week

šŸ–„ļø Home and Electronics

Amazon: Thousands of deals are already live, and more are being unveiled every day. You’ll find strong discounts on home tech, kitchen gadgets, smart devices, and everyday electronics. Browse all Black Week offers here*. Until December 1, you can get also €10 off a €25 purchase in the Amazon app with code ENJOY10 (advertisement) — it’s mostly for first-time app users, but if you see the ā€œYou’re eligible for this offerā€ banner here*, you can use it even if you’ve ordered through the app before. Standout deals as of today include 13-inch M4 Apple MacBook Air* for €795 (28% off), Marshall Acton III Bluetooth Speaker* for €169 (43% off), Apple AirPods 4* for €111 (26% off), Dyson V8ā„¢ Advanced Cordless Vacuum Cleaner* for €239 (40% off), Samsung devices*, Oura rings* and plenty of small household items.

Amazon Haul: A separate section of Amazon for ultra-low-cost products — mostly direct imports from China and no-name brands. Quality can vary, but if you’re after stocking stuffers or small home items, it’s a good place to browse. Until November 27, you’ll get €10 off a €20 order with code BLACKHAUL10 (advertisement). Shop Amazon Haul here*.

MediaMarkt: One of the go-to spots for Black Friday deals on electronics. From laptops to TVs and washing machines, you’ll find strong offers across all the big brands. For instance, you can get an AEG Series 6000 ProSense washing machine* for €377 (down from €824) or Sony PlayStationĀ®5 Digital Edition Slim 825 GB* for €349 (down from €499). Shop all Black Week deals here.*

Coolblue: Another great pick for deals on big-ticket electronics and appliances — from headphones and vacuums to TVs and coffee machines. Check their Black Friday offers*.

Lidl Online: Lidl’s website doesn’t sell groceries, but offers just about everything else. Think kitchen gadgets, home basics, bedding, mattresses, and even clothing. I got some nice non-stick pans* (from €18.99) from them last year. Discounts during Black Week run up to 80%, plus you get a €10 in-store coupon when you spend €100 online, and free shipping from €49 with the Lidl Plus app. Valid until December 1. Shop the sale*.

Ninja & Shark: Great deals on home appliances across both brands — from air fryers and multi-cookers to vacuums and hair tools. Black Week discounts go up to €150 off, plus extra 10% savings if you register for their newsletter. Shop Ninja* or Shark*.

Tado: Smart thermostats and starter sets with up to 45% discount (starting at €54.99). These help you control heating room-by-room via app and can lower your energy bills. Offer runs through December 2. Shop the sale*.

There is something for everyone in the Amazon Black Week deals.

šŸ’… Fashion & Beauty

Zalando: My go-to shopping destination for clothes, shoes, accessories and beauty. Black Week discounts go up to 70%. Shop the sale.

Notino: Up to 30% off, plus an extra 5% in the app. Use code ā€œblackā€ (advertisement) at checkout. Valid through November 30. Shop here*.

Parfumdreams: One of my favorite sites for beauty products – prices are consistently low, and this week you can save 25% with code BEAUTY25 until November 27. Shop here.

Cult Beauty: Up to 25% off almost everything. A beautiful online store with premium skincare and makeup that’s usually a bit of a splurge, but Black Week makes the prices more reasonable. Shop here.

Amazon: It’s not the first beauty shopping destination that comes to mind, but there are some great deals to be had, especially this week. Check it out*.

Blissim: A surprise beauty box filled with products worth €82 — now just €8 instead of €17.95 with code BLACKFRIDAY8 (advertisement). Offer valid for new customers, minimum 3-month commitment. Offer ends December 1. Get the box*

Notino already has reasonable prices, so the sale is especially worth checking out.

šŸ“± Phone Plans

Lyca Mobile: 12 GB for just €2.49/month – the price is truly unheard of for this amount of data. It’s prepaid, no contract, with the price valid for six months before increasing to €9.99. If you’re fine switching plans later or like the flexibility of a prepaid contract, this is a great short-term win. Sign up here*.

Sim DE: 3 GB for €2.99/month – a no-brainer if you want the lowest-cost plan without needing to switch again soon. No setup fees if you get a 24-month contract, or €9.99 if you want to be able to cancel monthly. As a bonus, you’ll also get the Cyber Booster (3Ɨ10 GB extra when you need them) and the first 3 months free if you choose a 24-month contract. Browse the plans*.

sim24: If your data needs are higher, you can get 35 GB for €5.99/month. For bigger data packages, this is one of the best-value plans out there. Includes the Cyber Booster (3Ɨ10 GB of bonus data, activated via SMS). Valid until November 28, 11:00. Check the offer*.

Sim.de prices this week: I’m not sure phone plans can get any cheaper.

šŸ’» Apps & Software

Babbel: If you’d like to brush up your German or add more languages to the mix, Babbel’s Black Friday deal gives you 12-month access to all languages for €107.88 (normally €215.88). That’s €8.99/month, billed monthly — a big drop from the usual €17.99. I enjoyed learning both German and Spanish with Babbel, so I can wholeheartedly recommend this platform. Sign up here*.

Amazon Kindle Unlimited: Try it now for €0.99 for 3 months (valid until December 1). Kindle Unlimited gives you access to a huge library of ebooks – great if you want to read more without buying each title individually. Works on Kindle devices or via the Kindle app (no need to purchase an e‑reader). Sign up here*.

Unlike Duolingo, Babbel actually teaches you languages really well.

🄦 Food, Groceries & Sports Nutrition

Eismann: Get €40 off as a new customer on Eismann frozen meals and groceries — €20 off your first order (min. €45) and another €20 off your next order with no minimum spend. Use coupon code MEGADEAL (advertisement). Order here*.

MyProtein: Up to 85% off sitewide, plus an extra 15% with code DACH25 (advertisement) until November 30. A great time to stock up on powders, snacks, or vitamins. Shop MyProtein*.

Nespresso: Get 6 free sleeves of coffee capsules when you buy 36 with code GIFTING30, or 4 sleeves for free when you buy 24 with code GIFTING20 (advertisement) and/or get 15% off accessories (excl. limited editions). Offers run until December 1. Stock up here*.

Nespresso rarely offers discounts over 15%, so this is a pretty good deal.

šŸ›’ Other Deals

AliExpress: Black Friday sale with deep discounts on everything from home goods to accessories. Use these promo codes for extra savings: €3 off €18 (code DEBF03), €9 off €59 (code DEBF09), and more that you can find on their website (advertisement). Shop AliExpress*.

Groupon: Extra savings on already discounted deals with code BLACKFRIDAY (advertisement). From spa days to movie tickets, there’s a lot to explore. Browse Groupon deals*.

Airalo: 25% off all unlimited eSIM data plans until November 30. For example, a 15-day unlimited plan for Thailand comes to just €13.50 after discount (regular price €18). You have 90 days to activate your plan — perfect if you’re planning a winter getaway and like to have a lot of data when you travel. Get it here*.

Medimops: Already low prices on secondhand books and media, now with extra discounts for Black Week. Get 12% off on the website with code BLACK12 or 15% in the app with code BLACK15 (advertisement). Valid until December 1. Shop here*.

Amex Payback: If you have an Amex Payback credit card, now is a good time to shift more spending to it. Activate a coupon in the Payback app and earn points equivalent up to 1.75% cashback: 350 points for €200, 900 for €500, or 1,400 for €800 spend. The card is completely free and currently comes with a 4,000-point (~€40) welcome bonus. If you don’t have this card yet, you can apply here* or read my full review.

šŸŽ Freebies

Discounts are great, but free is even better. Here are the best cashback and sample promotions you can claim this week:

  • Antikal: Buy Antikal promotional products (various limescale remover liquids and sprays), upload your receipt and product photo and get a full refund. Valid until March 14, 2026.

  • Gefro sample pack: New customers can request a free sample pack — includes soup sachets, seasoning mixes, salad dressing packets and more. Good for testing out flavors without commitment. Get the sample pack*.

  • Swiffer: Buy a Swiffer dusting kit (those fluffy handheld dusters) with a promotional sticker and get a full refund when you upload your receipt and barcode. I was skeptical about needing this, but I got one, and it's actually pretty convenient. Runs until April 30, 2026.

  • Smol laundry capsules: Try 9 Smol laundry capsules for free and only pay €1 shipping — a low-cost way to test the product; subscription can be canceled immediately after free pack ships. Grab your free pack*.

I wasn't sure whether I needed a Swiffer, but I actually ended up using it quite a lot.

That wraps up this week’s round-up of Black Week deals. I’ll be sending out a quick bonus issue on Black Friday if I spot stronger offers. If you want it in your inbox, subscribe to the Smart Living newsletter here— it’s free, and sent once a week.
